works with the Capital Region Workforce Investment Board (CRWIB) in its mission to increase private sector employment opportunities and to ensure the integration of services to prepare individuals to meet the needs of business and industry in the Richmond region. The CRWIB also oversees the activities authorized under the federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA) of 1998.
is composed of local elected officials (or their designees) and county administrators from the eight counties in the Capital Region Workforce Investment Area: Charles City, Chesterfield, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, New Kent, Powhatan and City of Richmond. Henrico County serves as the fiscal agent and WIA grant recipient.
