Public Information

The public information function of the County Administration Office: 

  • provides information to the press, coordinates media relations
  • assists citizens in contacting government offices or agencies
  • provides information on local government meetings and activities
  • provides information to the local cable channel
  • writes press releases, publishes the county newsletter
  • coordinates and staffs the county’s citizen education program, New Kent University
  • updates county website and social media channels
  • coordinates special events
  • coordinates and/or tracks Freedom of Information Act requests
  • provides media and communications support to the Emergency Operations Center, activated by the County during local emergencies and drills
