Cast Your Vote

The Voter Registration and Elections Office is committed to providing each citizen of New Kent County with the opportunity to exercise his or her right to vote in an efficient and equitable manner in accordance with federal and state election laws.

The New Kent County Voter Registration Office and Central Absentee Voting Precinct is located in the Health & Human Services Building at 7911 Courthouse Way .  The Voter Registration Office is in Suite 400 and the CAP has been established in the large meeting room in the building.

Acceptable forms of identification in order to vote after July 1, 2014

All of New Kent County moved from the 7th Congressional District to the 1st Congressional District after January 1, 2017.


2018 Elections
(All polling places are open from 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.)
Please note: Once you register to vote, you are only required to re-register IF you have a change (ex. name or address change prior to any election before the deadline date).


  • June 12, 2018 Dual Primary   See Order Calling for Primaries issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Elections on February 28, 2018.  
    Note:
    Virginia law only allows you to vote in one of these two separate elections. You must indicate your choice of which election you will be participating in when you go to vote or when you request an absentee ballot.    
  • November 6, 2018 General Election (Tuesday after the first Monday)
*U.S. Senator (6 year term)
*U.S. House of Representatives (2 year term)
